Bank History
Nevada Bank & Trust was the result of efforts made by a group of businessmen initially led by Wesley Holt in the late 70s. Until that time Caliente, Nevada had never enjoyed the benefit of a local commercial bank. Mr. Holt began this venture by seeking the help of Clair and Frank Chadwick, acquaintances he had made through his mercantile affiliations. The Chadwicks had previous experience in opening and operating small community banks in Eastern Idaho and thought Wes’ idea worth their while. With this small group in place and a lot of volunteer hours they obtained a bank charter and opened the first Nevada Bank and Trust office in Caliente, Nevada on June 21, 1978. Since that time, additional offices have been opened in Ely, Elko, and Mesquite, Nevada. Nevada Bank & Trust is a small town community bank able to offer one-on-one personal and economical service without compromising customer safety and security.
